CSCW'2008 Status
Happy New Year! It looked far away when we started organizing at CSCW 2006 but 2008 is now here and the conference is just around the corner! Well, more like around a few corners, but soon. :-)
So, we want to give you an update as we all gear up for the conference.
We have invitations out to a few prospective keynote speakers. We'll send announcements as those firm up.
An email will be sent to multiple distribution lists this month with the Call for Papers. There will also be an advertisement in the Feb CACM and Interactions. The ad is attached - please print it and distribute it freely.
Please take printouts of the ad (or the flyer we sent in Oct) to any conferences you will be attending this year (We're taking a stack to IUI next week).
In addition to the web site, the epub chairs have created a number of digital representations of CSCW 2008. There is this blog that you and the community can use to have discussions - send posts to the epubs chairs: epublications@cscw2008.org.
There is also now a facebook group for CSCW 2008 so we can have a central place where all community members can get updated, leave messages, attend events, etc. Please join and invite your friends to help create critical mass for the CSCW social network!
CSCW 2008 is shaping up to be a terrific event.
